News » Schede video » Nvidia cambia nome alle GeForce 9 series in G100 series?

Trapelano indiscrezioni da TG Daily , circa un possibile cambio di nome per la serie GeForce 9 di Nvidia, che potrebbe diventare la serie G100, questo cambio di nome avverrà su tutte le GPU della serie 9000 con processo produttivo a 55n, i nomi che saranno adottati sono G100, GT120, GT130, GT140 e GT150. Questa operazione sarà completata contemporaneamente al lancio di nuove GPU di fasica alta basate su GT200, il 15 ottobre.

Tutto questo ha lo scopo di allinearsi alla nuova tipologia di nomi iniziata con le GeForce GTX 200 series.

"Following a recent announcement that the company would lay off about 7% of its staff, it seems that Nvidia is busy bringing the company back on track. Rumor has it that the company will be announcing additional graphics cards in the GT200 series on October 15. Coinciding with the product launch, Nvidia is expected to depart from its sequence numbering system of the 8000- and 9000-series and transition to a system that is in line with the GT200 series."
